Thinking of movies to watch this summer? Have a look of my TOP 5 HALO HALO MOVIE LIST. The list is composed of movies in different genres, released before 2018, which you missed watching. Promise! You will like all of these.

On the Job (2013)

Genre: Action, Crime, Drama

If you like action movies, definitely, this is the one to watch!  This is about prison inmates temporarily released from prison to work as contract killers. I must say, this is an amazing awesome movie. A work of art. When you watch this, your senses and emotions will surely work. You will feel pain, feel pity, be angry, be shocked, etc. Just like riding on a roller coaster. I highly recommend this. A movie that you will never forget. P.S. Just Guns and Bloods.

My Rating: 10/10, must watch, perfect, the best Filipino action movie for me

Kubo and Legend of the Two Strings (2016)

Genre: Animation, Action, Adventure

Animated movies are not just for kids. Young boy named Kubo must locate the magical weapon and armour by his late father in order to defeat a vengeful spirit from the past, the moon king. This movie is very catchy, exciting and the story is amazing. No boring moments from start until end. Sure! Even grownups gonna love this!

My rating: 9/10, must watch movie

Bad Genius (2017)

Genre: Comedy, Crime, Drama

Do you like exciting movies? Go for this Thai Movie! This is a movie with good story line and the execution was great! Thumbs up! The story is about Lynn, a genius high school student who makes money by cheating test. This is not just an ordinary teenage movie. You will surely have fun with this, since, probably you became a student and maybe have tried cheating too. J

My rating: 7/10, fun and exciting, squad movie

Killer Toon (2013)    

Deo web-toon: Ye-go sal-in (Original Title)
Genre: Crime, Horror, Thriller

A horror movie from South Korea. This is about a horror web comic artist Ji Yoon who becomes suspect to series of murders because of her works become precisely identical to the crime scenes. I like the concept and material of this movie. The story and drawings from comics are coming to reality. This also gave me some jump scares. Perfect for a barkada movie horror night. Though, the ending can be much better.

My rating: 7/10, nice movie, squad movie

Can’t Help Falling In Love (2017)

Genre: Romance

Don’t end the season without feeling the summer romance. Not a fan of Kathniel, but I have liked them in this movie. Upon getting engaged with her boyfriend, Gab (played by Kathryn) finds out that she is already and  accidentally married to a stranger named Dos (played by Daniel). The story was nice and find this movie funny. Good job for Kathniel for the acting.

My Rating: 8/10, must watch, best Filipino romance movie of 2017

Marrying the Mafia 2 (2005) Genre: Action, Comedy, Romance Looking for something funny? Try this movie! Not the one that will amaze you but probably this movie will make you laugh. Even though the lines and scenes seem to be too cheesy, but still, this movie is good and likable. Personally, I laugh a lot in this movie. The story is about a gang leader who fell in love with a state prosecutor for crimes of violence, specifically gangster related. Your Name (2016) Kimi no na wa - Original Title Genre: Animation, Drama, Romance, Fantasy Very different and has an exciting story. You'll always want to see the next minute of this movie. Your Name (Kimi no na wa) is a Japanese animated film that tells the story of a high school girl in rural Japan and a high school boy in Tokyo who swaps body. I love personally the twist and the surprises at the end of this movie. SIN ISLAND (NOW STREAMING ON IFLIX)

Sin Island (2018) Genre: Drama, Mystery, Thriller, and Suspense (Available on IFLIX ) This movie is watchable and not boring. You will like this if you’re in with thriller movies. There was a big shift with the plot and seeing this as a movie with two incoherent parts. However, the movie is still enjoyable. The story is about a perfect married couple David (Xian Lim) and Kanika (Coleen Garcia). David was a successful photographer before his career goes into a downward spiral. Then, his wife Kanika loses interest with him and had an affair with her co-worker. After discovering that his wife is cheating on him, David travels to Sin Island (Sinilaban Island) where he starts his own affair with Tasha (Nathalie Hart). Personally, I enjoyed the last part of this movie. This movie is recommended for boys’ movie night since, boys like thriller and intense romance. The Scam (2009) Genre: Crime, Heist, Drama (Available on Netflix ) An interesting movie. If you are trading and playing in the stock market, you'll enjoy this. The Scam is the first film in South Korea to tackle stock market. The story is about Hyun-soo who try his fortune in the stock market and loses everything in his first attempt. But then, after five years of spending his life on the front of the computer screen as a full-time ant (individual investor), he eventually reaches the top of the game. There are some parts of this movie that are boring but still, you'll hold onto it because of its distinct story. You'll also get some lesson and realization from this movie.
